International Learning

There are various opportunities for members of the police family to enhance their professional development through the International Police Association.

IBZ Gimborn is an educational establishment, based in Germany, which organises police related seminars.  It is open to IPA members and non-IPA members.

The Arthur Troop Scholarship consists of a bursary to be used towards expenses of attending a course / seminar at an overseas educational establishment. Any IPA member may apply for a Scholarship.

With the International Learning & Development Exchange Programme (ILDEP), Section UK, a National Co-ordinator facilitates placements and exchanges with police organisations, leading to professional development at individual and organisational level.

The Young Police Officers' Seminar is a bi-annual event.  It allows serving personnel an opportunity to attend lectures and workshops on policing methods employed by the host country, and to share ideas for best practice.
