Public Protection Week launches at Excel London to unite the UKs emergency services, security, forensic and justice sectors

Friday, 19th June, 2026

Threats have changed. Public protection has evolved. The way the sector comes together has not - until now.

A major new UK event is set to redefine how the nation approaches public safety and resilience, bringing together the full public protection ecosystem Emergency Services, National Security, Counter Terrorism, Forensics, Workplace Safety, Justice and Rehabilitation under one roof for the first time.

Public Protection Week (PPW), under the strapline Protect. Prevent. Respond., will launch on 22–23 June 2027 at Excel London a move that signals a step change in scale and ambition. This is not another co-located event. It is the UK’s first truly integrated public protection platform. At its core is a shift from siloed capability to a connected model built around the full operational lifecycle: Prevention → Protection → Preparedness → Response → Investigation.

From terrorism and public disorder to major incidents and infrastructure threats, today’s risks are interconnected and complex. Yet many events remain fragmented. Public Protection Week has been created to close that gap delivering a single platform that mirrors real-world operations and strengthens collaboration, interoperability and national resilience.

The event brings together leading brands including The Blue Light Show, Counter Terror Expo, Forensics Europe Expo and the newly launched Prison Expo, representing the full spectrum of public protection from front line response through to investigation, justice and rehabilitation.

The move to Excel London is central to this vision, providing the scale and infrastructure to expand exhibitors, enhance live demonstrations and increase visitor capacity
enabling, for the first time, a fully connected public protection platform at scale. Alongside this, Safety, Health & Wellbeing Live London will co-locate, extending the conversation into workplace safety, occupational health and organisational resilience.

The launch comes at a pivotal moment. Evolving legislation such as Martyn’s Law, increased focus on interoperability, and growing demands for resilience are reshaping how organisations prepare for and respond to risk. Public Protection Week will connect decision-makers, operational leaders and frontline professionals with the technologies, insights and partnerships needed to respond more effectively.

Tim Else, Founder and Managing Director, What Else Events, said: "The organisations responsible for protecting the public do not operate in silos. Yet the events serving them largely still do. Public Protection Week has been created to reflect the reality of modern public protection, bringing together prevention, preparedness, response and investigation within a single environment."

Free to attend, Public Protection Week is expected to attract professionals from across emergency services, government, security, forensics and justice, alongside international delegations.

As the UK faces an increasingly complex risk landscape, Public Protection Week is set to become the central meeting point for those responsible for public safety and resilience.
