Stop thieves from putting their foot down

"Stop car thieves putting their foot down"

Traditional steering wheel locks may look secure, but most experienced thieves can get around them quickly—whether by cutting through the wheel, picking the lock, or simply using brute force.

Car collector, inventor, and engineer Darren Doe discovered these vulnerabilities firsthand when securing his collection of classic cars. Although steering wheel locks offered a visual deterrent, he noticed it didn’t take long for thieves to learn how to bypass them with ease.

Determined to find a better solution, Darren took a different approach: if a thief can’t use the pedals, they can’t drive the car away. After 18 months of design, development, and rigorous testing, he introduced Pedlock, a device that locks and temporarily disables a vehicle’s pedals, leaving the car completely immobilised.

While a variety of electronic anti-theft systems exist, some high-tech options are proving less reliable than hoped. Pedlock, by contrast, is fully mechanical, key-operated, and simple to install. By preventing the pedals from functioning, it offers an effective and straightforward layer of protection.

Some steering wheel locks also lock the pedal but not as securely as the  Pedlock which is specifically designed to protect the accelerator and/or brake pedal.

Though slightly pricier than a standard steering wheel lock, Pedlock delivers far superior security at a reasonable £80.00. Each unit is manufactured in Darren’s Clacton factory using exclusively British-made components.

Initially popular among fellow car collectors, Pedlock is now gaining traction with everyday drivers who want an affordable, easy-to-use, mechanical anti-theft device.
