Merseyside Police is celebrating it’s 40th birthday this year and is inviting the public to see how the force has changed over the last 40 years.

As part of Merseyside Police’s birthday celebrations, an open day was held at the
Museum of Liverpool Life, showcasing and celebrating the work of Merseyside
Police. It is 40 years since the force was formed following the introduction of the county of Merseyside.

Chief Constable Sir Jon Murphy, said: “This year is a real landmark for the force
and a number of events are being held to celebrate Merseyside Police turning
forty. It’s really pleasing to see that the local events that have already been held have been very well attended.”
