A new contract to provide North Yorkshire Police with an organisational support solution for HR, training, and duty management has been announced today by Capita Secure Resource Solutions and the Force.

Worth up to £1.25 million over five years, the contract means Capita is now providing organisational support solutions to all four police forces across the Yorkshire region.

The system will manage North Yorkshire Police’s data for HR, training, duty management and optionally health and safety and is expected to deliver significant efficiencies and streamlined processing.

Lucy Bailey, managing director of Capita Secure Resource Solutions, said: “All police forces are facing the pressure to make cuts while at the same time improving efficiency and maintaining front line services. This is a tough challenge, but Capita is working closely with its police partners to enable this challenge to be met.

“Streamlining organisational support is a clear way for the forces to become more efficient, and Origin is a proven platform which is now assisting forces across the country to make significant savings while maintaining or improving their frontline services.”

Deputy chief constable of North Yorkshire Police Tim Madgwick added: “By upgrading our duty management, HR and training systems with Capita and taking a more self-service based approach to managing data, North Yorkshire Police will have a solution which will not only save the force money, it will deliver the underpinning services to make the force more effective and responsive.”
