Got a Filthy Mind...then check out Run Rampage!

Wednesday, 14 July, 2010

A new event is hitting the Surrey countryside as competitors are challenged to an extreme cross-country race in England's winter conditions. Run Rampage will be held on January 16th, 2011 at the MOD's Bagshot army barracks in Surrey, which is used to test army tanks before Afghanistan.

Competitors in this brand new event will need to battle against the January cold in a physical and mental challenge through uneven terrain, grade one and two hills, water and thick muddy bogs testing their skills and fitness to the extreme.

Race organiser, Ricky Moore is a keen runner, having recently completed the London Marathon, as well as many races in the past. The idea of Run Rampage was developed to give runners something a little bit different, testing their skills to the extreme and getting really filthy, while loving every minute of it.

Ricky Moore, race director, told 'Police life'

"I had seen similar races and loved the idea of organising a race like this, although I couldn't find any locally that also gave competitors the chance to test themselves on hills. Run Rampage has graded one and two hills and lots of them so we want to test our runners to their limits, this will be no walk in the park or your usual 10k.

Our runners will get down and dirty with a lot of mess, mud, bogs and deep puddles so we hope it will be a really fun event for competitors who are brave enough to give it a go but also their supports that will come to cheer them on. Entries are already flooding in and we are sure it won't be long before we reach the race limit, however this is just the first event in the Rampage series. In the future we are planning swimming events, cycling events anything that we can give a rampage style makeover to, so sign up now to keep posted."

Run Rampage 2011 will be helping to raise money for Help for Heroes, to support Britain's servicemen and women.

If this sounds of interest then why not gather up a team or enter as a single runner and go and Run Rampage.

Entrance to the race is £25 and runners can enter online at www.runrampage.com or to find out information please email
