Your role with us 

By implementing FCDO’s security strategy and policy, you will ensure the day-to-day physical protection of people and property at one of FCDO’s overseas posts or regions. The first point of contact for security queries and the investigation of security incidents, you will also provide briefings and orientation for all of those for whom FCDO has a duty of care. You will ensure business continuity plans and other emergency drills are in place. There may also be responsibility for security equipment such as armoured vehicles and emergency communications such as radios and tracking devices. 

Who we’re looking for 

With a background in the Police, Prison Service, military (intelligence, combat or security role) or a commercial security company, you will have significant experience of security management.  Your track-record will include protection of physical premises and management of large groups of staff.  You’ll be used to working closely with other teams to deliver at pace. Strong communication skills are essential.

A full manual UK driving licence is essential, preferably including C1 Category (this will be required for a number of locations overseas). You must be a British Citizen at the time of application. This role requires you to attain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
