BLUE LIGHT CARD DONATES £100,000 TO NATIONAL FRONTLINE WORKERS CHARITIES

Friday, 06 August, 2021

Specialist discount service, Blue Light Card, has shown its commitment for the UK emergency services, NHS, social care and armed forces community, with a donation of £100,000 to The Air Ambulance Service; Care Workers Charity; NHS Charities Together; Police Care UK; The Fire Fighter Charity, The Ambulance Staff Charity and SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity.

Shared between all seven causes, the funds will go towards helping each charity continue to provide support for all those who work on the frontline to keep the UK safe and protected each day. The past year and a half has seen many frontline workers face long hours and increased pressures in the wake of COVID-19, but Blue Light Card CEO, Tom Dalby, hopes the donations will go some way towards being able to give back to those who have sacrificed so much.

He said:

“It has been an extraordinary year for the blue light community, and COVID-19 has placed a great strain on the UK’s emergency and health care services, with many armed forces teams stepping up to show their support. These charities have played a vital role in supporting the nation’s critical workers who have worked tirelessly to help maintain essential services throughout the pandemic.

“We are delighted to be able to make our contribution to all seven organisations that are particularly close to many of our hearts and help them continue their incredible life-changing work for both the general public and the true heroes of the pandemic.

“Since our launch in 2008, we have worked closely with the blue light community to offer support through exclusive discounts from our fantastic brand partners, while providing a community where emergency services, NHS, social care workers and the defence community can come together.

“We hope our donation not only supports and celebrates these fantastic causes, but also helps highlight the brilliant organisations our members can turn to when in need of support.”
