ANPR Team Make 39 Arrests in August

In August the Bedfordshire Police Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Intercept Team made a total of 39 arrests across the Force.

Six arrests were made for drug offences, eight for theft/deception, five for burglary, four for going equipped for stealing, four for drink driving, three for vehicle crime, one for grievous bodily harm, one for driving whilst disqualified, one for indecent exposure, one firearms offence, one warrant for failing to appear in court, one for obstructing an officer in the course of their duty and three European arrest warrants were executed.

Two stolen vehicles were also recovered including one fitted with false plates worth between £7,000 and £8,000 and another estimated to be worth £2,000 - £3,000, as well as £800 cash from money laundering.

Sgt Ian Stoughton of the ANPR Intercept Team said: "Last month continued to be extremely successful for the team and we will continue our efforts to catch criminals using the county's roads, as well as recovering stolen vehicles and money obtained by illegal means."
