Winston Churchill Wants You! Travelling Fellowship seeking Public Services enthusiasts

Tuesday, 14 September, 2010

Tuesday 5th October 2010 marks the closing of the 2011 applications for the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Travelling Fellowship Scheme.

The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust (WCMT) - www.wcmt.org.uk

- offers individuals from all walks of life the chance to travel overseas to broaden their horizons, acquire knowledge and confidence, and ultimately to make a long term difference back in their industry or profession in the UK for the benefit of others.

In the current economic climate, a travelling fellowship will add real value to both your skills and CV and, at the same time, provide an extremely valuable experience of a lifetime sabbatical. In particular, the Professions and the Public Services category still has opportunities available and anyone with a worthwhile project should apply.

Sir Winston Churchill's legacy lives on through the work of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust and its Fellows. Annually the Trust awards over 100 grants to individuals who wish to travel overseas to carry out projects relating to their interest or profession.

The WCMT believes this unique opportunity benefits both the Fellows, and more importantly others in the UK; achieved primarily through personal development and dissemination of the knowledge and best practice from what they learn on their travels.

Anyone with a good project can apply, and the very varied nature of the Fellows and their subjects can be seen by going to the Trust's website.

Applicants need to be over the age of 18 and British Citizens, resident in the UK. Successful applicants on average will receive a Fellowship grant of up to £5,500, covering travel of for 4-12 weeks (min 4 weeks). The deadline for the 2011 applications is on 5th October 2010.
