PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To provide driver/rider training and assessments to meet the operational needs of Northamptonshire Police. This includes emergency response and the modules associated with the initial stage of police pursuits.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To design, organise, plan and deliver all Forcewide driver training, managing and making full use of resources available.
• To develop Force policy in relation to driver training in line with Health and safety and best Practice.
• To monitor and evaluate all training provided, assessing Forcewide needs and ensuring all needs are met at all times.
• To report on (both verbal and written) the ability and performance of officers following all driver/motorcycle training courses undertaken, using counselling and coaching techniques as required.
• To keep and maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all driver training undertaken.
• To liaise with other personnel such as training, planning, outside agencies, Force Health and safety Officers and other forces as necessary in order to maximise benefits for all training provided, ensuring that all training is relevant and in line with best practice.
• To monitor the standard of police driving and provide information, advice and guidance to all customers, internal and external.
