G4S Policing Solutions are currently looking for an ex Police Officer / Police Staff to work in Central London in a busy Crime Management Unit as a CRIS Operator. Previous experience in working withe Metropolitan Police Service would be desirable due to the nature of the role.

PURPOSE OF JOB

Manage the ‘CRIS DESK’ within the CMU.
Manage the transferring of recorded crime by the Met Police Service (MPS) to the BTP via the MPS CRIS system and vice versa where required, through effective analysis and research.

Principal Accountabilities

Monitor the CRIS system and ensure the effective transfer of BTP identified crimes from the MPS CRIS to the BTP Crime System

Ensure compliance with the Force policy of the three day rule in relation to the transfer of crimes from the CRIS system to the BTP Crime System.

Process and return via CRIS any incorrectly identified BTP crimes and notify as appropriate.

Ensure relevant cross referencing is carried out, linking BTP Crime System record generated by CRC with corresponding CRIS generated crime report

To ensure that there is no duplication of recording where both BTP and MPS have attended an incident i.e BTP Officer reports via CRC and a CRIS report is transferred by the MPS Officer

Where necessary, to liaise with MPS officers through appropriate means to obtain details of investigations direct from source.

To interrogate the CRIS and CAD systems using the ‘Aware’ facility, and ensure BTP are taking advantage of all MPS recorded detections which may link to BTP jurisdiction. The CRIS desk will ensure these issues are suitably recorded on BTP systems.

Liaise regularly with the Crime Recording Centre to ensure details of transferred crime are received.

Assist CMU Manager as required.
