Domestic Violence Investigator - Melksham, Salisbury and Swindon
Vacancies have arisen for Domestic Violence Investigators, within the Public Protection Department. These posts will be based in Melksham, Salisbury & Swindon.
The role of the Domestic Violence Investigator is to monitor the incidence of domestic violence, support, advise and raise standards of investigation; interview domestic violence offenders; ensure that the victims of domestic violence receive appropriate service and support in liaison with other agencies and voluntary bodies. Liaison with other agencies is a key element of the role. The post holder will be expected to represent the Police at multi-agency meetings and be part of a decision making process aimed at protecting victims from further abuse.
Previous experience of investigating and conducting interviews and working with a variety of agencies is essential as is having excellent communication skills, the ability to problem solve and meet deadlines. Some knowledge of Domestic Violence Policy is desirable.
The successful candidate will be expected to work weekends based on a rota system and therefore the post attracts a 6% unsocial hours payment.
