Vetting Unit Officer - Professional Standards Department

You will support the protection of the organisation from corruption and embarrassment through the processing of vetting applications for existing and prospective employees, contractors, volunteers and partnership workers in line with the ACPO National Vetting Policy for the Police Community and associated legal and statutory obligations.

To be considered you will need substantial previous administrative experience and a good working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel. You will have an understanding of the principles of equality and diversity and an awareness of the ACPO National Vetting Policy for the Police Community. You will also need to comply with the required MV level of Vetting.

You will be able to balance customer needs with organisational needs, deal with sensitive and confrontational situations with tact and diplomacy and work accurately to deadlines.
