The post-holder will work within the Tertiary Learning and Development Team primarily in relation to the development and delivery of training for new and ongoing Health and Safety courses.
There may also be a requirement to undertake the delivery of some First Aid training as a secondary activity. Contact with students will be targeted at 70%. The remaining time will be allocated to preparation, planning and level 1 evaluation.
Responsibility for leadership and pastoral care of students will be maintained throughout the defined period of any course being delivered.
Assessment of students’ competencies will be integral to all programmes, in accordance with defined procedures for each course.
The successful applicant will have at least 2 years post professional experience in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of Health and Safety programmes of learning, and will hold an NVQ Level 3 in Learning and Development or equivalent plus the NEBOSH National General certificate in Safety and Health. They should also be qualified, or willing to work towards, a recognised assessor qualification.
This person must have experience of taking a lead in a defined subject area whilst working as part of a team and possess demonstrably high levels of communication, persuasion and presentation skills. They must also demonstrate awareness of race and diversity issues appropriate to this role and organisation.
