Effective communications are vital to GMP and our aim is to improve service to the public and speed up the handling of 999 calls.
You must have experience and training in telephone communication in a customer environment.
You will have keyboard skills, the technical knowledge and confidence to use computer systems, the ability to prioritise and resolve problems and give advice – often handling people in difficult circumstances.
The role will require exceptional sensitivity and the ability to withstand pressure, as you will frequently be dealing with distressed people making 999 calls.

There is a development opportunity to progress to the next grade which will involve working as a radio operator.
Hours: 36.25 hpw, 24/7 rotating shifts.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a job related assessment and typing test and will need to achieve 35 wpm to proceed to interview.
