At Hertfordshire Constabulary, we depend on well maintained and efficient transportation to help us deliver our services to a large and diverse community. That means we need skilled professionals ready to dedicate their time to ensuring that our fleet of over 640 vehicles is always ready for action.
Maintaining, servicing and repairing mechanical, electrical and electronic components of police vehicles and plant to agreed standards, you will also carry out safety inspections, diagnostic testing and problem solving. You will also attend vehicle breakdowns and complete documentation work – including job sheets, service sheets, time sheets and stores requisitions.
With significant post qualification experience gained within a motor vehicle workshop environment, you will have a good standard of education, be a time served Vehicle Technician with Nationally recognised qualifications, City & Guilds, NVQ level 3 and/or equivalent and have a good knowledge of current vehicle electrics/management systems.
Being a team player is a must, however you will also be expected to work using your experience and initiative to problem solve. A full driving licence is essential.
You will be expected to support a shift working pattern.
The Fleet Department covers two shifts ranging from 6am – 9.30pm, Monday – Thursday and 6am – 8.30pm, Friday.
