Wiltshire Police strives to deliver a service which leaves the community feeling both safe and satisfied. A key element in achieving this aim is the ongoing improvement of its performance in respect of crime investigation.
Our objective is to achieve the consistent and effective management of crime investigations, whilst at the same time freeing up busy front line officers to respond to emergencies and provide a visible and reassuring presence on our streets. To achieve this, Volume Crime and Priority Crime Investigation Teams are now being created. These teams will be located at Melksham, Swindon and Salisbury and will be staffed by a mixture of Police Officers and Police Support Staff Investigators.
To enable the creation of these teams we are now recruiting Police Support Staff Investigators. This is a challenging and rewarding role and will include being responsible for a variety of tasks such as dealing with victims of crime, witnesses and suspects.
Previous experience of the judicial systems is essential, as is experience in investigating matters and carrying out interviews. Your attention to detail and good communication skills – both written and verbal will be vital in this role, as will be your ability to work under pressure and to very tight deadlines.
