INVESTIGATIVE SUPPORT OFFICER – NORTH AREA (1 post each based at
Peterlee, Chester le Street and Consett)(Ref. 44/08)


The Investigative Support Officer works on a daily basis within the Suspect &
Offender Management Unit, obtaining prisoner samples, witness statements, VIPER captures and provision of general administrative support to the PPO premium service, pre-charge file building and wider functions of the Unit.
Applicants should have at least 2 years clerical experience, e.g. photocopying, filing, preparing letters and documents from templates, incoming and outgoing postal duties, updating records and systems, together with at least 2 years previous Customer Service experience.
You should also have numeracy skills together with enhanced literacy skills, e.g. composing either original memos, letters or short reports on a regular basis, statement writing and enhanced keyboard skills e.g. use of spreadsheets, inputting into database systems, etc. where accuracy is essential but speed is not a key
demand..

You should possess 4 G.C.S.E. levels (Grade A to C) including English Language or
Literature and Maths or an approved equivalent. Applicants not in possession of the minimum qualifications will be required to undertake the Personnel Test Battery
Series and must achieve a pass in all three papers.
