Supporting Area operational performance you will be dealing with enquiries in accordance with current legislation, policy and procedures, from members of the public who attend the station. The opening hours are based on 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 10am – 6pm.
You will have a good general education, specifically English at ‘O’ Level/GCSE standard or equivalent. A GNVQ level 3 qualification in Customer Service (or equivalent) would be an advantage, however if you do not possess this you will be expected to work towards gaining this qualification.
With experience of working within a customer orientated environment you will be able to demonstrate effective communication skills in dealing with a wide cross-section of the public. You must be computer literate and be familiar with software packages, in particular Word and Excel. Training in police procedures will be provided.
The position is based at Thames police station but you will be required to cover absences at other police stations in South Oxfordshire (Henley, Didcot and Abingdon) so you will need to be flexible and willing to travel when required.
