The Software Services Department must introduce, maintain and enhance the use of technology to further increase the efficiency and effectiveness of policing in Nottinghamshire.
You will primarily ensure that we can support our various systems, which are a mixture of third party applications and a few in-house developed systems as well as assisting in the support of National Applications located within the Force.
The work will involve providing database support of both 3rd party and in-house developed systems, upgrading 3rd party applications and writing and maintaining interfaces between various systems using either Unix and PL/SQL scripts or the Business Objects data integrator ETL tool.
You will advise the in-house development team on how best to write sql and develop the databases that support their applications. It's also expected that you will act as a technical advisor on 3rd party upgrades.
You must be qualified or have proven experience in either Oracle or Microsoft Sql Server, SQL and Unix and should be able to demonstrate experience of providing a structured approach to carrying out investigations and problem analysis.
