COMMUNITY SUPPORT OFFICERS
NORTH WORCESTERSHIRE DIVISION

Salary £15,327 p.a. rising by annual increments to £18,306/£18,969, plus shift and weekend working allowance. This is based on a 37 hour week with a shift pattern covering Monday to Sunday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Would you like to work within the Community? We are currently seeking motivated individuals to be representative of the Community working as Community Support Officers.

This is a highly responsible post where you will play a key role in improving community safety by maintaining a visible, uniformed presence to enhance confidence and provide reassurance to local people.

Working within the community you will assist in deterring incidents that impact on quality of life, such as anti-social behaviour and environmental matters. As your local knowledge develops you will become a point of contact for communities and their representative groups, and you will work with them to resolve identified problems. You will be given limited powers to assist you to deal with anti-social behaviour and other local issues.

You should be self-motivated with good written and oral communication skills, and preferably have experience of dealing with the public. You will be expected to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team, building strong working relationships with community partners. Full training and uniform will be provided

Candidates successful at the shortlist stage will be invited to attend an initial recruitment test week commencing 28th April 2008, at Kidderminster Police Station.

Interviews will be held week commencing 12th May 2008.

Successful candidates will be offered training places in either September 2008 or December 2008.
