PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To develop and lead a corporate marketing function, collating and interpreting key marketing data and identifying opportunities to improve policing services and develop effective relationships with customers/citizens.
To coordinate the development of the Northamptonshire Police 'brand', ensuring consistency and overseeing direct communication with the public, including publications and advertising.
To manage the Force marketing/PR team, delivering support to the organisation in line with the development of the Citizen Focus approach to policing.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 Develop and implement a marketing strategy for the Force, based on detailed analysis and evaluation of customer intelligence/information, within the remit of the overall strategic objectives, mission, vision and values of the Force.
2 Manage and coordinate the dissemination of analysis of marketing data and provide detailed plans and recommendations for segmenting and targeting key groups, in pursuit of corporate objectives and strategies.
3 Lead and manage the marketing functions of the Force, ensuring close cooperation and integration with corporate communications colleagues and support for neighbourhood policing and community engagement.
4 Devise and implement an annual marketing plan in support of the marketing strategy, ensuring it integrates with the Corporate Communications Strategy and delivers consistently across the organisation.
5 Develop and ensure consistent application of the Force 'brand' in all direct communications with the public, commissioning and managing corporate publications and wider marketing/ communications activities.
6 Proactively manage key stakeholder relationships ensuring that Force information and key messages are delivered effectively to and with partners and identified stakeholders.
7 Provide a professional marketing/communications service in pursuit of campaigns - both in-house and external as required - in support of marketing and corporate communications objectives.
8 Provide support across the full spectrum of corporate communications as required during critical and major incidents.
9 Participate in projects and working groups as required, providing support to specific initiatives and approaches, such as Citizen Focus and recruitment.
10 Carry out any other duties that may be outside the standard remit for the purpose of personal development, or as may reasonably be required.
