Salary range £21,342 - £28,368/£29,112 p.a. (Plus honorarium payment to cover Darkness Training) 37 hour week Reference

Based at a brand new state of the art Driver Training School, the successful candidates will be responsible for training and testing West Mercia personnel and clients from other forces and agencies, in practical and theoretical driving for a wide range of courses, including Advanced Level.
The successful candidates must have:
A full clean driving licence
Evidence of both practical driving skills and further development, such as ROSPA Gold, Cardington Grade A, DIA Advanced Driving or equivalent
Successfully completed the Police Driving Instructors Course
Qualified DSA Approved Driving Instructor, Grade 5 or 6 only
Successfully completed or be capable of passing the Police Advanced Driving Course within the probationary period of employment
Relevant experience in a training environment
Competence in using IT, including Microsoft packages
A1 Assessor award or be willing to attain this
A driving assessment and roadcraft written test based on ‘Roadcraft, The Police Drivers Handbook’, will be held on Thursday 6th March 2008. Shortlisted candidates will be given further details, but interested parties are advised to start their preparation early.
Those who pass the assessment will be invited to attend an interview on Wednesday 19th March 2008. Candidates will be required to give a presentation at interview.
