Brief Description
Introduction and brief summary of the department:
The Neighbourhood Policing Team at Dartford consists of Two Police Constables working with and supervising Special Police Constables. The main Area that this team will be responsible for will be the line between Dartford Railway Station stretching down to Gravesend Railway Station including a level crossing just beyond Gravesend. These two officers come under the command and directions of the Sergeants in charge of Lewisham Neighbourhood Teams..
Description of the role:
The role will closely follow the Neighbourhood Policing Module and will be community based policing ensuring liaison with local communities along this line of route. The Police Constables are responsible for deploying and working alongside numerous Special Constables that are employed directly from within South Eastern Train Operating Company.
The new Dartford Neighbourhood team will ensure that a proactive approach to community policing is maintained in this area and that local problems are resolved through intelligence led policing.
They will ensure that ‘Safer Station Safer Journey’ is at the forefront of the communities mind when travelling on the system and will ensure that a safe environment is perceived for persons travelling and working within this line of route.
The officers will liaise closely with local Police Neighbourhood Teams and South Eastern TOC’s REO’s and RPO’s to provide joint problem solving partnerships within the Area.
This will be a very proactive post and will require a highly dedicated and motivated individual who will be able to enhance their skills and career development

Full working knowledge of the Neighbourhood Policing Module

Be able to work as part of team.
