Information and Publications Manager
Officers who police the diverse county of Nottinghamshire carry the highest workload in the country. The force has been through a period of intense change, achieving substantial drops in crime for four consecutive years. The organisation is striving to improve the quality of the service it provides and, to do so, must ensure that its officers and staff are well informed and motivated. Its communications team is undoubtedly the busiest in the county, handling thousands of calls every month from the media, partner agencies and internal customers. In addition to managing the external demands, it is vital that information is cascaded, through a range of media, to officers and staff at every level of the organisation.
Key responsibilities include the management and development of the force website and intranet, so web communication skills are essential. We’re looking for someone with strong, proven writing skills and at least five years’ experience in media, public relations or marketing, including e-communications and the production of publications.
The role will involve managing staff, so experience of working within a formal appraisal system is essential. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic projects and campaigns.
