£25,611 per annum rising to £26,985 in two annual incremements
The Wiltshire Constabulary, together with police forces throughout the United Kingdom, is better trained and equipped than ever before to combat the threat of International and Domestic terrorism. The Force, as part of the ongoing national counter terrorism strategy, has dedicated Counter Terrorism Security Advisers (CTSAs) who are coordinated, trained and tasked by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO), a specialist police organisation co-located with the Security Service in the National Security Advice Centre.
The primary role of these advisers is to provide protective and counter terrorism security advice to support businesses. The advice available takes into account both conventional and non-conventional terrorist techniques and the aim is to reduce vulnerability to terrorist threats. The CTSAs work closely with other police forces throughout the country, government departments and other agencies.
Applications are invited for the above post which will be based within the Special Branch at Police Headquarters, under the line management of the Detective Inspector Special Branch. The post holder will be expected to work from within Police Headquarters however may also be required to serve at any of the two BCU headquarters subject to operational necessity. The successful applicant will join a small team of highly trained specialists and after completing a wide range of specialist courses will be fully equipped to work in this demanding and sensitive environment.
Those candidates successfully short listed will be invited to attend a selection centre that will require them to provide a short presentation (5 minutes) followed by an interview.
