Intelligence analysis is one of the most fascinating - and critical - areas of Police support work, including the provision of profiles of offender habits, which can identify those who commit serious and/or organised crime.
The key to these roles is the use of information and intelligence to inform and influence the operational planning and decision making process.
This helps us identify policing priorities and distribute our tactical resources.
We need Analysts capable of using the nine analytical techniques actioned in the National Intelligence Model to produce problem profiles and identify evidential and intelligence links between offences and offenders.
You will have research experience within a similar analytical environment in a large-scale organisation, a firm grasp of research, analysis of information, monitoring patterns and trends and associated clerical/administrative functions will underpin your ability to prepare and present finings and intelligence briefings to operational personnel.
Familiarity with preparation/presentation of reports and production of statistics, charts and diagrams will match your strong interpersonal skills at all levels.
We'll provide appropriate training in the use of i2, which will enable you to maximise your analysis techniques.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to give a short presentation prior to interview.
