The Wiltshire Criminal Justice Board represents the six criminal justice agencies in Wiltshire and Swindon. A key aim of the Board is to improve confidence in the criminal justice system.
This Communications Officer is responsible for raising the profile of the Board with local communities as well as internally within the criminal justice agencies.
Reporting directly to the Board, you will take responsibility for devising, implementing and maintaining an effective communication strategy. With an excellent understanding of media communications, you will promote the work of the Board and its constituent agencies across a variety of internal and external audiences.
Having experience of working as part of a wide team and networking with outside organisations and groups, you will have excellent organisational skills and an ability to meet deadlines whilst balancing competing priorities.
The Communications Officer will be part of the support team for the Wiltshire Criminal Justice Board however, the Wiltshire Police Authority will be the employing agency and therefore the postholder will be subject to Wiltshire Police’s terms and conditions. The position is based at Court Mills in Trowbridge but there is an expectation that the postholder will travel extensively within Swindon and Wiltshire.
