These posts are being advertised internally and externally at the same time.

What we are looking for

Chief Inspectors who:

• Share our Force values of transparency, impartiality, integrity and public service embedded within the Competency and Values Framework (CVF), whilst living by the Code of Ethics.

• Will support the Force in fighting crime and protecting people, setting organisational strategy, standards and operational policy.

• Will support the Force to provide an outstanding policing service, putting the public first in all that you do and in so doing supporting stronger, safer and sustainable communities.

• Will work collaboratively with colleagues within the Force and across the region.

• Will work effectively with local partnerships to safeguard our communities.

• Will help achieve the Force priorities of tackling and preventing crime, investigating crime, early intervention and prevention, ensuring Northamptonshire Police is a great place to work, being digitally enabled and effectively operating a place based operational model.

Eligibility
Applications are welcomed from substantive Chief Inspectors and substantive Inspectors. All officers who have passed the Inspector NPPF Step 3 process since the introduction of the
NPPF must have successfully completed NPPF Step 4 at the rank of Inspector to be eligible for promotion.

The recruitment process

The recruitment process will consist of the following two stages, with external applicants being subject to an additional stage; pre-employment checks.

Stage one (a)
• Applicants are required to apply using the application form.
• Applicant’s applications must be endorsed by their line manager and second line manager.

Stage one (b)
• A panel, made up of CC Nick Adderley, supported by ACC Pauline Sturman and Detective Chief Superintendent Mark Behan will paper-sift applications on the 6 August 2020.

Stage two
• A formal interview and presentation will take place w/c 17 August 2020. Applicants will be given the presentation topic on the day.
• The panel will be chaired by CC Nick Adderley, supported by ACC Pauline Sturman and Detective Chief Superintendent Mark Behan.
• A Northamptonshire Police Federation Representative will also be present in order to observe the interview/presentation process.

Familiarisation Evening
A familiarisation evening will be held on 14 July 2020 at Northamptonshire Police Force Headquarters between the hours of 6pm and 9pm.
