You will provide and administer a full support service to HM Coroner for the District concerned in respect of sudden and unnatural deaths and Treasure Trove.
You will be responsible for ensuring all reports of sudden, violent, suspicious or unnatural deaths are efficiently investigated and discussed with HM Coroner, so that a suitable decision can be made. Also, collate and assemble evidence by various officials and obtain statements from anyone who has knowledge relevant to a death.
It is essential that you have previous experience in an administrative environment; be able to prioritise tasks, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You must have a good standard of education to GCSE level (or equivalent) grades A-C including English Language and Maths. You must also be able to deal empathetically with the bereaved and communicate effectively.
