The penalties for offences under the Private Security Industry Act 2001 are potentially severe - for the most serious offences, fines are unlimited and can carry a sentence of imprisonment of up to five years.
You will be tasked with researching, investigating and visiting security related organisations providing these services within Scotland to ensure compliance in line with the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (PSIA), ie. That they and their operatives are correctly licensed in line with the act. You not be concerned with chasing individual door supervisors, but rather the companies that provide security services of this nature, and are now systematically avoiding compliance.
