Job Description: You will be responsible for supervising and managing the work of the Community Safety Unit as the focal point for promoting and co-ordinating a pro-active, preventative and partnership approach to dealing with problems of crime and related offences of public concern to reduce crime and the public's fear of crime within the Peterborough area.
You will continue to maintain and promote an inter-agency approach to crime reduction issues, working with other agencies and ensuring the Division is represented at appropriate inter-agency forums, and providing information and advice requested by other agencies. As a supervisor, you will take responsibility for the development and motivation of the Divisional Community Safety staff through personal leadership, performance appraisal, identification of training and development needs, promoting multi-skilling amongst team members and dealing with welfare and discipline issues to maximise staff contributions to the Units performance.
You must be educated to ‘A’ Level or equivalent standard, preferably including English with previous experience of working in the Community, public service, education-based or similar organisation. You must also have experience of a practical approach to time and resource management in order to achieve objectives and deadlines, including managing the workloads of others.
