PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Support the HR function in providing a professional HR service. Provide expert HR advice/guidance to managers and staff across the organisation.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To act as the first point of contact in providing advice, guidance and support to Area/Departmental staff on all HR issues. This would include Employment Law, Force Policies and procedures, police regulations, best practice, equal opportunities and conditions of service for Police Officers and Police Staff.
2. To develop, devise and implement appropriate policies and procedures to meet the needs of the organisation in consultation and to ensure Force personnel policies and procedures are appropriately applied.
3. Ensure that appropriate and timely decisions and action are taken with all HR issues. Ensure the relevant policy/process is followed, in line with best practice i.e. attendance management, poor performance and pensions etc.
4. To coordinate, develop and implement the HAY job evaluation process, including providing advice, guidance and assistance to managers within the organisation. To support HR Business Partners and line managers with organisational developments, change management, redundancy and redeployment.
5. To support HR colleagues in the consideration and progression of training and development needs of all staff within area of responsibility.
6. Deputise for HR colleagues at meetings/working parties as appropriate, representing the views of the Department.
7. Conduct relevant performance development reviews within relevant timescales.
8. Undertake specific project work as directed by HR colleagues to assist in the development of HR initiatives or the post holder.
9. Any other duties or tasks as required within the scope of the role.
