You will assist in the support of the personnel system (NSPIS) by providing advice to all system users ensuring that they receive a seamless and high-class system support service including system updating procedures, error rectification and generating reports.
You will deal with queries for information from internal and external enquirers ensuring that the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998, the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Code of Practice on Management of Police Information 2005 are adhered to.
With knowledge of computer applications especially databases you will be numerate and literate and be capable of elicit relevant information from customers to ensure understanding of nature of query or fault. Knowledge of the Data Protection Act 1998 and experience of assisting in determining and resolving computer or software application problems is essential as is experience of recording and retrieving information by using computerised systems and of providing advice and support to individuals on procedures and computer applications.
