It is requested that the nominated person has previous detailed experience as a detective officer. It should be a person that can be allocated the same contract over a period of time in order to build up local knowledge, and become part of the team, which will assist with the investigations at hand.
1. Competent in questioning victims and witnesses to crime.
2. Competent in taking witness statements.
3. Confident in challenging witnesses who appear to be lying to police.
Perform role of nominated exhibits officer for house searches.
4. Able to construct and show photographs to witnesses under supervision of supervisor, as per requirements of Police and criminal Evidence Act 1984.
5. Competent in submitting and transporting exhibits to forensic establishments.
6. Competent to give evidence at a court of law.
Additional requirements.
A full driving licence must be held.
