About this job

We are looking for exceptional individuals to be part of a new high profile Team of Community Safety Enforcement Officers; this new and exciting Team will be required to patrol the main urban areas within Barking and Dagenham and be responsible in enforcing Public Space Protection Orders on a shift pattern. You will be working with statutory and voluntary sector organisations, communities, and individuals. Within this role you have the opportunity to collectively address persistent and problematic crime and anti-social behaviour within the Borough making a real difference to the lives of residents and businesses within Barking and Dagenham. Key aspects of the role would be to help identify individuals and/or locations of significant community safety/ Antisocial behaviour risk, engage with individuals who may need to access Council services to assist with any identified vulnerabilities. This is a great opportunity to engage with individuals and work to overcome a variety of challenges, experience joint working with teams across the Council as well as third parties including the police. This role is a front facing role and requires a lot of walking / patrolling, you will be required to compile and collect data and information which will be presented for review at multi agency review meetings. This role gives you the opportunity to attend community events and engage with the public to raise awareness of crime issues and provide crime prevention advice to residents. The role is based in London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and will be operated on a shift rota basis.

Special requirements for this post

You will be required to have a DBS check as this role will be Community Safety Accredited.
