Details: A vacancy has arisen within the Accident & Process section of the Criminal Justice Unit located at Staines Police Station.

You will be responsible for making decisions to prosecute by examining the content of case papers in order to decide on the most appropriate disposal of individual cases. You will be responsible for directing and managing staff within the unit ensuring case papers submitted to other agencies within the Criminal Justice system comply with agreed standards and timescales. You will also be required to liaise with the Crown Prosecution Service, police officers and other outside agencies.

It is essential that you have a working knowledge of Road Traffic Law together with previous experience of decision making. You must also have previous experience in a supervisory role, managing a team. Well-developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills are essential to be able to deal with matters tactfully diplomatically and in a clear and precise manner.

Accurate and methodical in your approach, you must have letter and report writing skills ideally supported by a GCSE in English Language (grade C or above). An understanding of Surrey Police policies and procedures relating to non-crime offences, coupled with knowledge of the Code of Crown Prosecution would be desirable.
