Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity for the post of Casebuilder, CJS Department based at Chorley Police Station, St Thomas Road, Chorley.
Duties will primarily concern upgrading expedited Court files to a high standard. Paying close attention to detail, you will obtain all outstanding evidence to prepare the file to “trial ready” status within set timescales. You will work with operational officers and the Crown Prosecution Service, undertake principle disclosure duties to complete disclosure schedules and ensure files are ready for trial in both Magistrates and Crown Courts.
The successful candidate will have previous administrative experience, including the ability to input and extract information from computerised systems. The ability to manage your own workload to meet deadlines whilst working in a busy environment is essential. You will also be an effective team member with good communication skills and have experience of dealing with diverse sections of the community.
A basic knowledge of the Criminal Justice System, legal definitions and points to prove would be advantageous. Successful applicants will hold or must be willing to obtain the ILEX Certificate in CJS Administration within two years.
