Salary £9.30/hour, plus an unsocial hours payment (dependant on the shift pattern)

The Force is now inviting applications from candidates to become part of a pool of ‘on-call’ Enquiry Officers at the Enquiry Offices located at Melksham, Salisbury and Swindon. You will need to have a strong background in customer services as this is a busy role providing a link between day-to-day activities of a 24/7 policing organisation and the public. You tell us what your availability is and if it fits with our profile, you could join the pool. You would then be paid for the hours you work when called out.

You will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to deal with a wide range of people both internally and externally. Experience of working within a busy administrative environment is essential and the successful candidate will need the ability to act on their own initiative, prioritise workloads and the ability to keep accurate records is essential.

Wiltshire Police provide a 24/7 policing service to the public of Wiltshire – accessibility to Enquiry Office services is a core component of that service – and applicants should therefore be prepared to work shifts between the hours of 8.00am – 8.00pm - including weekend and bank holidays. Successful applicants should be prepared to work from one of our three Enquiry Offices. You should hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle or be able to make alternative arrangements to meet the requirements of the post.
