Criminal Justice Courts Supervisor

A vacancy has arisen within the Criminal Justice Department for a Supervisor who will be based at Melksham. You will have responsibility for a team of people whose job it is to ensure that all crime files are processed to the quality required and are delivered to the Crown Prosecution Service within the timescales demanded by Court Procedures. To achieve this you will have to deal effectively with all enquiries from Police Officers, CPS, Public and other agencies. You will support and develop your people to enable them to provide a high quality service to all involved in the justice system which includes solicitors, defendants, victims and witnesses.

This is a demanding role which can impact greatly upon the satisfaction that victims and witnesses have with the Police and the justice system. To be successful you must be able to motivate your people and negotiate robustly internally and with other agencies.

It is essential that applicants have good communication skills, both written and oral, are able to deal with varying degrees of workload and demands, work flexibly and independently, deal with staffing issues and technical issues as they arise, and deal with change and guide staff through change.
