Are you looking for an exciting and fulfilling role using your Vehicle Technician skills? This is your opportunity to join Babcock as a Mobile Repair Technician supporting the London Fire Brigade. You will play a key role to keeping the Fire Brigade moving.

Who we are looking for?

Babcock supports the London Fire Brigade with the maintenance and repair of their assets. Your role as Mobile Repair Technician is to inspect, diagnose and repair the fleet in a safe and efficient manner. We are looking for an experienced technician to uphold our high standards and keep to demanding targets. 

Your role will be mainly based at London Fire Brigade sites, so you will need to have a professional manner and have the ability to communicate with various stakeholders. This is a rewarding role with varying workload, that will expose you to different situations allowing you to develop. Training will be provided as part of the induction for the role and afterwards as necessary.

What will you be doing?

As Mobile Repair Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • To maintain, adjust and repair heavy and light vehicles, components, accessories and operational equipment for the London Fire Brigade, in a safe, proper and economical manner
  • To effectively, professionally and courteously communicate with colleagues, suppliers and the client at all times.  
  • To ensure that the company vehicle is roadworthy at all times and any necessary repairs and scheduled maintenance events are planned in good time.
  • To provide your own toolkit suitable for carrying out a range of electrical, mechanical and body repairs on light and commercial vehicles. 
  • To ensure the correct completion of all job-related documentation.

The experience you’ll bring 

City & Guilds 1 & 2 in Motor Vehicle Studies or equivalent NVQ levels 2 & 3
At least 2 years qualified motor vehicle technician.
A full UK Driving License, Category B.
Good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
