An opportunity has arisen for an Accounting Technician to join the Finance Department of Wiltshire Police in Devizes.
As an Accounting Technician you will fulfil a number of essential roles for the Force; these include the provision of budgetary control information to service managers, helping managers use scarce resources efficiently and effectively, assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and controlling various specific grants. The successful applicant must be able to think clearly, be innovative and be able to develop and implement solutions that will improve the performance of the Force.
The successful candidate will be a qualified Accounting Technician or currently working towards the qualification. With the ability to demonstrate experience of budget setting and control within a medium to large organisation, the candidate must also have excellent people skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision in resolving issues.
Excellent IT skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines are prerequisites of the post.
The weekly hours for the post are negotiable for the right person with the range being 25-37hrs per week spread over a 5 day working week.
