Starting at £16,347 plus Weekend Working Allowance (£2,430.00) and
Rotating Shift Allowance (£3,269.40) pa
We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated team players for the post of Controller in our very busy, fast pace Communications Centre.
If successful you will deploy Police Officers and Police staff to urgent and routine incidents utilising the Airwaves radio network. You will anticipate, monitor and respond to events to provide the optimum level of police response. This will also involve dynamic risk assessments to maximise the safety of the public and our police officers. Previous experience is this type of environment is desirable, although not essential. You will remain calm under pressure and have the ability to multitask.
You should have excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen, gain a quick grasp of a situation, elicit relevant information, making decisions and communicate quickly and clearly
You will input information directly onto an incident logging system, working within the remit of local policies and national legislation so good IT/keyboard skills are essential.
The role is demanding, but for those who have the requisite skills, is one that can provide a great deal of job satisfaction.
The role covers the equivalent of 37 hours per week; you will participate in a 24-hour shift system covering 365 days a year.
