37 hour week (Temporary 6 months to cover maternity leave to start March 2008)

The successful candidate will support the People Development Team within Training and Development, who provide officer development opportunities and assessment centre services to the Constabulary. You will liaise with a wide range of contacts internally and externally, helping West Mercia recruit, develop and retain the most appropriate staff to provide Service Delivery First.
The role is varied providing administrative support for recruitment and selection activities, assisting with the facilitation of assessment centres, co-ordination of development activities and maintaining information storage systems.
The successful candidate must have:
previous experience of office administration
GCSE level or equivalent education, to include English Language
competence in the use of IT Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel and Access
keyboard skills of 35 wpm, ideally RSA II Typing or equivalent experience
proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
proven ability to work under pressure and to manage a diverse workload
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wishes to develop within a HR environment, previous experience of this would be advantageous.
