Based at Throckmorton, Pershore
Salary range £10,671 - £14,184/£14,556 p.a. 18.5 hour week (with scope for extra hours to cover demand) Reference No. H03/05
The successful candidate will be responsible for training and testing Force personnel and personnel from other forces and agencies, in practical and theoretical driving including Advance level. The primary role will be skid car training, using our calibrated, hydraulic skid car frames.
The successful candidate is expected to maintain and calibrate the skid car cradles, liaising with the force’s Fleet Workshops. Since some mechanical work is expected, the preferred candidate will have some understanding and interest in mechanical repairs and maintenance.
The successful candidate will have:
A full clean car driving licence
Evidence of both practical driving skills and further development, such as ROSPA Gold, Cardington Grade A, DIA Advanced Driving or equivalent
Successfully completed the Police Driving Instructors Course
Qualified DSA Approved Driving Instructor, Grade 5 or 6 only
Successfully completed or be capable of passing the Police Advanced Driving Course within the probationary period of employment
Relevant experience in a training environment
Competence in using IT, including Microsoft packages
A1 Assessor award or be willing to attain this
A driving assessment and roadcraft written test will be held on Monday 14th April 2008, with an Assessment Centre held on Monday 21st April 2008 and will be based around the competencies for the role and ‘Roadcraft, The Police Drivers Handbook’.
