We are currently looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our Procurement Department, where you will play a key role in ensuring the effectiveness of the procurement function within Surrey Police.
Working as part of a small team on a wide range of contracts for goods and services, the successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the tender process from creation through to implementation and monitoring. Other duties will include improving customer relationships, negotiating with suppliers to achieve value for money and promoting the profile of the procurement function within the organisation.
The successful applicant will ideally be CIPS qualified, studying towards CIPS or possess considerable previous experience or the ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, in purchasing goods or services and establishing contracts for a large organisation, preferably in a similar environment. You will need to be a team player with the ambition to succeed and a forward thinker with the ability to implement ideas and promote best value in the procurement process at all levels. You will have experience of using computer systems, including the operation of databases and the ability to design effective advanced spreadsheets for evaluation process. Experience of EC Procurement Directives would also be advantageous.
